REVIEW: Clinique Moisture Surge INTENSE Moisturizer

As you guys know, I have very dry skin. The act of putting on liquid foundation sometimes is seriously horrible when you're flaking all over the damn place. I had previously fallen in love with the Benefit skin care line and then took a break from those to try out a truly awful Body Shop Vitamin E moisturizer. After that failure, I  decided to give this Clinique one a go.

Before I go on with my review, keep in mind that everyone has different skin. I am not a dermatologist and I have no idea if this will work for you, break you out, cause a rash etc.

The consistency of this moisturizer is a very thick gel. It's really cooling on the skin and absorbs quickly. It's a strange texture for something this moisturizing. I normally associate a thick cream with something this intensely moisturizing, so this is really nice and light feeling without not being useful.

The moisturizer works as an all day hydrating cream that also preps the skin really wonderfully for foundation. I find that my foundation stays on longer when I use this ten to twenty minutes before application and it also stays dewy and fresh looking.

As far as my skin, I've noticed:

  • less breakouts
  • more even skin tone
  • no flakes or dryness
The moisturizer keeps my skin hydrated all day long without ever feeling greasey or oily and doesn't make my face look shiny.

This is a miracle cream if you have very dry skin and nothing has worked for you. A little bit of this goes a very long way, so if you're willing to pay the price initially, it's definitely worth your while and will last you a ver long time.

$37 from Clinique

  6. I love this product,

In Canada at Sephora it was around $60 - I still think it's worth it though, I have very dry and acne prone skin and I haven't broken out because of it and my skin is significantly less dry. I used it both before bed and before I put on makeup!
